Greetings Archers!
Starting with Patch RC v1.05, you will receive a one-time message at the start screen which states the following:
Notice about Saves: Bowmen save game data is now being stored by Steam user. The game should automatically copy your save game data to the new local file location, however, we cannot guarantee that this will occur without any issues. If you notice an issue with your game data, please visit etherealgem.com/support.
The reason for this message is because we have updated how the game handles Steam saves and uploading them to the cloud. In RC v1.04 and below, Steam saves were handled by computer rather than by user. This made it easy to handle save data with the Steam APIs, but also posed a problem for Steam users that may share a computer with another person. Therefore, we implemented an update whereby the saved game data will now be stored and separated by user, so that multiple players may share the same machine, with their game data remaining separate.
If you run into issues (or a mismatch between your local data and that in the cloud), we recommend you download your data from the Steam cloud. If you have issues with your saved game data, we are available on our support forums as well as the Steam discussion boards for Bowmen.
Sincerely,
Ethereal Gem Support Team
